Guns n' Roses made headlines in the past week with a highly anticipated reunion between Axl Rose, guitarist Slash and other key members, reportedly for the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in April. That's huge news, for sure. But where's Izzy Stradlin (who grew up in Lafayette as Jeff Isbell and was an original member along with Rose, a fellow Lafayette native)? One day, maybe, for the reclusive guitarist. Until then, keep cueing up "Sweet Child o' Mine" at the 3:07 mark to remember the muscle Izzy put into that band before jumping ship in 1991.

Better yet, grab a copy of his solo debut, "Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds," from 1992. It holds up well.
