Meanwhile, Izzy Stradlin has brushed off the Axl grease and shown up at Keef's back door asking to borrow a cup of riff.
Stradlin's Richards impersonation sounds unaffected, and the best moments here indicate Stradlin may have killed GNR when he left and took his songwriting with him.
Mainly, this is fun club rocking, and Izzy doesn't just lift his licks from the Aerosmithsoian Institution of Riffology. A punky remake of Pressure Drop turns into smooth reggae and Bucket O' Trouble is Shotgun Blues without Axl's unhinged screech. Stradlin is sincere about his jamming, and picking up guitarist Rick Richards of the Georgia Satellites was no small coup. Prediction: watch for Izzy to be releasing albums long after the Gunners implode.
